8 time legend player here to say, this game is no longer Hearthstone, but turn 5 stone, considering almost every single game is decided by turn 5 now. With that said, Hearthstone has always favored agro in a sense, but at least the games would go to 7th or 8th mana mark, sometimes even into a later game. However, I am not seeing this anymore at all. I would say that more than 80% of my games winning or losing, are now decided by turn 5.
This really makes me sad, and the slow control game, that I have been longing for since the days of CoN, are more than likely just wishful thinking by now. I think that Blizzard really came up with a great idea with this new expansion, and I was super excited to get back into Hearthstone. However, I was not expecting the games to go so fast. I feel like I'm not even making smart, logical, cautious decisions anymore, but rather either just overwhelming my opponent rapidly, or being overwhelmed.
I'm not sure how they could fix this problem, or if they even see it as a problem, perhaps this is the direction they are truly aiming for. With that said, I'm wondering why we even have 10 mana system anymore, other than to spam minions. I am the biggest Druid fan ever, it's the only class I am truly dedicated to, yet Jade Druid has killed 3 archetypes (Mill, Control, and Fatigue). This should never have been allowed imo… Also Pirate decks are super cancerous, and just kill the fun, they are super imposing, and in my opinion "no deck achetype should ever be super imposing that they basically break the game".
I know this is all just meaningless fun, at least it's suppose to be at the end of the day, because games are supposed to free our minds from daily life, and stress. Yet,, I personally am not feeling the fun as much anymore. I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with this rant and will continue to play, and I'm certain Hearthstone is here to stay for the long haul, and will gain even more followers. Blizzard has done the most outstanding job of marketing this game, in probably the history of gaming. I really wanted to come back and enjoy this game, but it might for a break for me.
I've been here since beta, are there any of my fellow beta friends, who feel they messed up as I do? Are you happy with the current state of the game? Is there still hope for a control game in the future? "I guess so considering expansions and adventures eventually get cycled out now"
Where's my people at, how are you feeling about Hearthstone? If you are unpleased, as I am, how would you fix this issue? Because to me this seems to be more than just a minion spam problem now. It's seems like it's something in the core mechanics, the way the mana system is built.

I dont think they should have changed charge. Personally I don't think they need to obliterate combo decks I wish they would just give all classes the ability to gain armor/ allow some classes to heal over 30…priest/ or create some cards that counter things like otk combos like secrets for all classes or some minion similar to loatheb.
Wtf Blizzard, stop nerfing cards and begin to get your game together. It's no fair one has to open 1-infinity packs filled with absolutely garbage. How hard is it to buff a card? Like seriously, no one would probably give to shits if warsong commander was 3-4 with samme effect. I understand you guys need to make money, so your community can buy packs and they open ice ragers and other totally useless cards so they need to buy more packs. Is it really this hard to just buff cards that are beyond terrible?

Sad about the Yogg nerf. I liked how random it was. It was always fun, and if I lost, I was usually close to losing anyway and at least I went down with a flourish. Trump says now you can play it when you've played less spells so it has less chance of killing itself.. But a ten mana 7-5 just isn't worth it. Maybe if they gave him an extra health point or something.

I want them to make it so we can select what emotes we want to use. I really miss the sorry-emote. I want it to be more like rocket league where you have a set of emotes to pick from.

The changes to Yogg and Tuskar Totemic are certainly welcome.
I'm honestly not so sure about Charge, though. I don't really believe this was done for the Worgen deck, as Trump mentioned it never really had that great an impact on the meta anyway. Sure people love to complain about it, but then those same people will turn around and complain there isn't enough deck variety. Or they'll play SMOrc shaman, a far more cancerous deck. At least OTK Worgen decks required some thought to use, and it was never a top tier deck to begin with. Also when Thaurissan gets phased out that deck would lose a ton of power, almost certainly being reduced to a mere gimmick deck. The problem with Charge is that it's part of the base set, and in the future when printing any neutral cards Blizzard would have to consider "Can warrior make an OTK deck with this?" So I guess they just decided they didn't want to bother with that any more. I do see the nerf as a death sentence for the card, as it was only ever run in OTK decks and now it's completely useless there.
Also people suggesting ALL cards with the charge effect should be changed to not hit face should really just.. kindly stfu. I am a midrange-control player, but the meta shouldn't be 100% control. As much as we hate the aggro decks, it's essential to have deck variety or the game becomes stale. Hunter, Shaman, and Mage already account for like 75% of the meta.. imho we shouldn't be celebrating the death of OTK decks, and we certainly should not be looking for even more decks to put on the chopping block.
I can't believe Trump said nothing about not being able to use HERO POWER with hunter on the same turn when using Call of the Wild. Now it is a 5 damage burst instead of a 7 damage burst, UNLESS you have a coin on turn 10? lol

I think the Yogg-Saron nerf highlighted something bigger though, I feel it highlighted the fact that a competitive ban list is a good thing. Every other card game has one for this reason.
Yogg-Saron was a fun card and that's going to be impacted now, there's plenty of ways it die's so now you have a 10 mana play that potentially does absolutely nothing, it's just unplayable now in my opinion yes a lot of people disliked it, but a lot of people also liked it and those complaining about RNG don't seem to understand that everything up to that point has been pretty random as well. Draw the right card at the right time to either win or not lose, guess what that's random as well!

It sucks that they don't care about balancing cards for wild. It would actually be fun if it weren't for a few offenders making the mode unplayable.
most people seem to play yogg when really a death wing would be a lot more useful. with the yogg nerd I wouldn't be to shocked to see death wings more but then again the has community doesn't always make sense
2 mana for 3 attack? Frostbolt does that, and it can ignore taunts and doesn't need to take face damage. And Fiery Waraxe does that, but for 2 turns. Rockbiter is flatout garbage now.
I think Tuskarr Totemic should summon a random zero attack totem. Still makes it a viable card with the chance of mana tide. With the change it's getting, I think it's gonna be pretty obsolete.
See no problem with the clip. Cancer warlock loses with nice luck. Hearthstone can never be competitiv, just to many tcg-mechanics not in the game that are needed for that.
Much, MUCH to casual for that. No handcontrol, 30 cards is to less, no graveyardinteractions, no combos outside of otk-blärg, no counterspells/instants, nothing. Hitting with minions and hoping you draw better is not competitiv. and never will be.
